Charles Winograd

Managing Partner

Charles Winograd is a Managing Partner of Elm Park. Previously, he was the CEO of RBC Capital Markets, the investment banking division of Royal Bank of Canada. He held this position from 2001 through 2008. In his role as CEO, Mr. Winograd was responsible for RBC's wholesale business around the globe, which included capital markets and corporate banking. Mr. Winograd's career in investment banking began at Richardson Securities of Canada in 1971. After a career as an investment analyst and portfolio strategist, Mr. Winograd held several executive positions including Head of Research and Head of Equities, eventually becoming CEO of Richardson Greenshields in 1987. When RBC acquired Richardson Greenshields in 1996, he became Deputy Chairman and a Director. He was appointed to the position of President and Chief Operating Officer of RBC Capital Markets in 1998 and was appointed CEO in 2001.

Mr. Winograd currently serves on the board of directors of James Richardson & Sons, Limited, TMX Group Limited, Spin Master Corp, and RioCan Real Estate Investment Trust. Previously, Mr. Winograd served on the board of directors of Talisman Energy, The Oshawa Group, Sceptre Resources, Andean Resources, JDV Limited, RBC Foundation, Sunnybrook Health Centre, Canadian Council for Israel and Jewish Advocacy, AT&T Canada, RBC Dexia Investor Services, Tamir Fishman and Algoma Steel. Additionally, Mr. Winograd served as Chairman of the Investment Dealers Association of Canada from 2000 to 2001.

Mr. Winograd received a B.A in Economics from the University of Manitoba and an MBA from the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario. He earned a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1979.
